What do we assess with heavy menstrual periods/long periods? - H & H Hormone levels Iron Levels 9. Education to pt with urinary incontinence - Scheduled toileting, no drinking after 5-6 pm, avoid food/drinks with caffeine 10. S/S BPH? - -nocturia, inability to urinate, trouble starting to urinate, weak stream (dripples) 11. Med class for BPH - Doxazosin alpha blockers 12. Alpha blockers are better for patients with BPH AND ________ - hypertension 13. What drugs should pt with BPH avoid - anticholinergic drugs (would make symptoms worse) 14. ED meds - PDE5-sildenafil 15. Risk factors for ED - cardio issues, meds, surgery to the area, (turp), stress, diabetes, drugs, alcohol, hypertension 16. When we talk to patients with these issues, how do we talk to them? - respecting privacy, open-ended questions, therapeutic communication 17.
