Analyse own skills and those required by an event organiser, highlight areas for development. The following are the skills that are required by event organisers: ● Problem solving ● Time management ● Negotiation ● Communication ● Interpersonal Problem Solving The score I gave myself in the semantic differential scale for problem solving is a 4. The reason why I gave myself a 4 is that, from my own experience solving problems in the past, I have noticed that I usually struggle and need extra time or help in order for me to solve them. The conclusion I get from the semantic differential scale for this skill is that It is not similar to the one needed for an event organiser as I am not that good at it yet and that I still need to improve it in order to perform in the expected way. Another reason why I need to improve my problem solving skills is that problems are something hard to understand or accomplish or deal with as It can be a task, a situation, or even a person. Problem solving involves methods and skills to find the best solutions to problems. In order for me to improve this skill I will be doing a number of changes in my attitudes towards problems, for example, I will now focus on the solution and not the problem; it is proved that the brain struggles when solving problems when you only focus on the problem itself. What I am going to do to improve is not ignore the problem, but try to stay calm, acknowledge the problem; and then, move my focus to a solution-oriented mindset where I keep focused on what the answer could be, rather than thinking about what went wrong or who’s fault it is. Time management The score I got for the time management section on the semantic differential scale is 3. The reason why I gave myself a 3 is that I have always been quite good at managing time in an efficient way, which allows me to do more and valuable activities in less time. I can also manage time in a good way in difficult situations,
