Ms. Nancy Campbell is a 25-year-old woman with recent, unprotected
vaginal intercourse.
Height: 5' 5" (165.0 cm)
Weight: 135 lb (61.0 kg)
Chief complaint: Pain with urination
She presents with a 3-day history of dysuria, increases urinary frequency
and vaginal discharge.
Per exam, she has a mucopurulent discharge with a normal bimanual exam
History of Presenting Information
Ms. Campbell is a twenty-five-year-old Caucasian female
Presents with pain during urination that started about three days ago
The patient experiences vaginal discharge and urinary frequency.
Her vaginal discharge is yellow, creamy, and mucousy.
The patient denies having any treatment for her symptoms.
Patient admits to have had a bladder infection a year ago.
The patient’s pain is worse at the beginning of urination.
Ms. Campbell uses pills for birth control and does not use condom
Medical history
Ms. Campbell has a history of a urinary tract infection that she was treated for last year.
She is otherwise healthy
Soaking in a warm bath makes her pain with urination better
No itching like in the case of yeast infection
Ms. Campbell uses ibuprofen with her period for cramps and headaches.
The patient uses an oral- contraceptive agent as her primary mode of birth control
