I think the smell of popcorn spreads because​ the odor molecule spread into the air. Gizmo Warm-up Smells are carried by tiny particles that move through the air. The Diffusion​ Gizmo shows gas particles in a chamber that is divided into two regions by a partial wall. Click ​Play​ ( ) and observe. 1. Describe the motion of the gas particles. The particles in a gas are moving very quickly in random directions. 2. Over time, what is happening? over time they evenly distributed throughout the volume of the container. When more gas particles enter a container, there is less space for the particles to spread out, and they become compressed.
